I have a hoarding problem.

I've been amassing a digital collection of art, both my own and from others, for years now. It's been sporadic but consistent over time, and I only ever stop when the pile gets too scattered.

I have approximately one bajillion photos I'm proud of, about 1% of which I've finalized edits on. There are thousands upon thousands of bookmarks from some of the world's best creators and thinkers, lying still and lifeless in roughly ten or more places. I've clipped quotes from books and snapped selfies with architecture. There are 66 issues of a poetry newsletter called FRGMNTS that I stopped writing in 2024, just sitting on another email platform eager to be picked back up. And I've written countless poems, many of which have yet to find a home.

All of it is waiting on me.

Welcome to Special Projects

There has long been a yearning inside of me to create a space which could hold all of this creative material. And now it's here; it's my website and newsletter, where you are reading my words right now.

I've shared the news of my upcoming book, While Away, which will be my primary focus for the rest of 2026. However, this book will not be made out of thin air. It will be fueled by a steady stream of inspiration and not-quite-good-enough ideas that don't deserve to be lost to my own disorganization. That's what Special Projects is for.

My last few months have largely been spent building a foundation for all of this to exist. I've loaded up a few things that I'm overjoyed to share with you today.

Poems

If you're like me, the second and third and fourth and fifth times you come back to a poem, it hits you in a perfectly new way. That's why my poetry needs a permanent home.

ENJYMNTS

ENJYMNTS is my personal index of inspiration. It provides the most intimate view into the types of work that influence my creative process. ENJYMNTS will only be available to Members and Founding Members. I'm choosing to hold this part of the site a little closer to the chest because of its significance to me.

Inspiration is organized by type and includes a source URL whenever possible.

Here's an example of what you'll find there. It's an image containing a quote by Saul Bass and was the inspiration for this update post's title.

Special Projects is a thriving garden

I will keep adding to both the Poetry and ENJYMNTS projects over time. All of the FRGMNTS issues and a ton of photography are still on the way as well. And the book is already underway, of course.

I left comments on a few of the posts that are live today. I would love to hear your perspectives, and I look forward to talking with anyone who wants to start a discussion.

Finally, I'm having so much fun already, friends. This once felt like part of a distant future I would never muster the time or energy to reach. Now that it's here, I'm loving every second I get to spend working on it. I've already reconnected with so many friends and even met a few new ones. I keep being surprised by how much comes back when you make something and share it.
